Dennis Haskins, Who Played Principal Belding on Saved by the Bell, Has Died at 75

Dennis Haskins, the actor who played Principal Richard Belding on Saved by the Bell, died at 75. His agent, Jay Schacher, confirmed his death to People on Monday, September 28. A cause of death hasn’t been made public.

Haskins played the principal throughout the show’s 4-season run, which ended in 1993, then returned for Saved by the Bell: The New Class, which aired through 2000. He reunited with several cast members for a 2015 sketch on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Schacher, who represented Haskins for more than 20 years, said the actor always made time for his fans. Dimples Karaoke Bar in Burbank, California, remembered Haskins as a longtime regular who sang, met patrons and took selfies with fans.

In its tribute, the bar said he’d lived with Parkinson’s privately and had fallen ill about 8 years ago. The bar said he died Sunday, September 27.
