Spencer Conley and Jess Edwards Have Ended Their Engagement One Year After Their Proposal on the ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Finale

Spencer Conley and Jess Edwards have called off their engagement, roughly a year after the pair got engaged during the “Bachelor in Paradise” finale. The couple announced the split in a joint statement posted to both of their Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Sept. 8. “There wasn’t one moment that brought us here,” they wrote.
The news comes after a relationship the two had always described as deliberately paced. In September 2025, Edwards said, “The thing about us is we don’t like to put super strict timelines on things. So I think right now we’re looking at, let’s see where we are this time next year and go from there.” As recently as February, the couple was publicly discussing a possible Tennessee wedding and how they’d arrange the ceremony.
On the Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour podcast, Conley said he was a little “worried” about balancing the wedding party. His three brothers and three or four friends were expected to be groomsmen, while Edwards planned to ask friends and cousins because she doesn’t have siblings. They’d also agreed to reverse the traditional positions during the ceremony, with her on the right and him on the left.
The couple say they’re moving forward with “grateful hearts” and “wanting nothing but happiness for one another.”
