David Schwimmer pulls… something out of his arm in the new season of Goosebumps!

In case you hadn’t heard, a new Goosebumps TV series began streaming on January 10th, 2025. And according to series star David Schwimmer, it gets kind of gross.

Titled Goosebumps: The Vanishing, it’s technically the second season of the Goosebumps anthology series launched by Hulu and Disney+ back in 2023. All eight episodes of the current season are streaming right now, but if you need a little more enticement, here’s a brief description of what to expect.

Goosebumps: The Vanishing is about a divorced father, Anthony Brewer (Schwimmer), whose two teenage kids, Cece (Jayden Bartels) and Devin (Sam McCarthy), come to visit. The overall story of the season involves the Brewer family uncovering a decades-old supernatural mystery that is once again becoming a threat in present times.

Goosebumps: The Vanishing was developed by Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman.

The best part is, even though the season tells one cohesive story over eight episodes, elements from multiple Goosebumps books are adapted into the plot. Longtime fans are sure to recognize the various episode titles as book titles (with some slight variations). Officially, Disney+ announced that the books Stay Out of the Basement, The Haunted Car, Monster Blood, The Girl Who Cried Monster, The Ghost Next Door, Welcome to Camp Nightmare, and more are all used in the scripts for Goosebumps: The Vanishing.

You might be wondering though, since Schwimmer himself told Entertainment Weekly that he filmed a particularly “gross” scene for the show, just how gross is it? Well, the scene in question happens in episode 2, and it will certainly make most people’s skin crawl. No spoilers here (the above image is only the beginning of the scene), but it involves a little body horror and something that crawled out of a sewer.

If that’s not the perfect tease to get you to watch, I don’t know what is.
