The panic and unpredictability that powered his comedies became something darker when he stepped into drama. Decades into his career, he can still make both feel unmistakably his.

His birthday arrives with Grown Ups 3 in production, reuniting him with Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade and Rob Schneider. Netflix announced the sequel was in development in May, then confirmed production had started on August 6 with Maya Rudolph, Salma Hayek and Maria Bello also returning.

His year has also included a role far from a movie set. He got ordained to officiate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden. The guest list was roughly 1,000, and every attendee was bound by an NDA.
