Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim were friends and coworkers at The Oppenheim Group before they were anything else. They went public as a couple in July 2021 on a trip to Italy, dated for about five months, and announced the split that December. Both of them were unusually gentle about it. Jason called her the most amazing girlfriend he’d ever had and said they wanted different things for a future family. Chrishell said he was and is her best friend, and that the love and respect were not going anywhere. The break was the children question. She wanted them soon. He was not ready, and was not sure he ever would be.

They have spent the years since proving the “still friends” part in public. Same professional world, same Netflix show (Selling Sunset) for a long stretch, other relationships on both sides, and none of the usual reality-TV requirement that an ex has to become a villain to stay on camera. Which is why the Tesla comment lands the way it does.

Jason posts what he says is the most important video he has ever made: Full Self-Driving from Newport Beach to the office, Bentley handed off to his dad, Teslas for the staff, a plea to ignore whatever you think of Musk because the tech might save lives.

Chrishell does not argue the safety stats. She skips straight to the season-ten logline.

It is mean, and it is also the kind of mean you only get from someone who already knows where the soft tissue is. Jason’s whole post is a man enthusiastically volunteering for a fandom. Chrishell’s reply is that she has seen this episode, and she is not going to pretend the devotion looks like a car review.

They can still be friends. Friends are allowed to say the quiet part out loud, especially when the quiet part is that your ex just filmed a love letter to another man’s robotaxi and called it the most important thing he has ever posted.
