Lively named Swift godmother to all three of her daughters. On the night Swift got married in front of 1,000 guests, Lively’s name wasn’t on the list.
It hurts, especially when non-friend Adam Sandler doesn’t only get invited and you don’t, but also gets to officiate the wedding.
Blake Lively is “sad and a little bit p***ed. No, a lot p***ed,” a source told the Daily Mail, describing the actress as hurt over being left off Taylor Swift‘s wedding guest list. “That friendship was over before but if there was hope, it’s gone. They’ll never be friends again.”
The two were once close enough that Lively made Swift godmother to her daughters James, Inez and Betty. That bond frayed after Swift was pulled into Lively’s legal fight with Justin Baldoni, then withdrew from her inner circle.
Texts unsealed in January 2026 as part of that lawsuit showed where the crack started. Swift told Lively her recent messages felt “like I was reading a mass corporate email sent to 200 employees” and said she missed her “funny, dark, normal-speaking friend.” Lively wrote back that she’d become “digitally paranoid” and that Baldoni “gave me an identity crisis. Legitimately.”
While Swift and Travis Kelce married at Madison Square Garden on Friday, with Adam Sandler officiating and Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney performing, Lively was roughly 300 miles away in Lake Placid. She and Ryan Reynolds spent Thursday at a farm supporting their six-year-old daughter Betty at a horse show.
The source says she wanted to be there. “It feels bad to be excluded like that. She had sort of hoped that despite everything, their history was enough that they’d be included, but that’s not the way it went.”
