Kelly Rowland won’t say whether Destiny’s Child will join Jay-Z’s 2027 Super Bowl halftime show. Her answer leaves the guest list open: “That’s none of my business. That’s his performance. That’s none of my business.”
Jay-Z, 56, is set to headline Super Bowl LXI on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. His wife, Beyoncé, 45, brought Rowland, 45, and Michelle Williams, 47, together for her own halftime performance in 2013.
The trio also reunited at Jay-Z’s 30th anniversary concert at SoFi Stadium in October. Rowland explained their appearance: “We were there for our big brother, Bey’s there for her man.”
She praised the performances, too: “He put on a hell of a show. Friday was incredible, but Saturday? I don’t know how that roof was still on because the energy in there was just palpable. It was absolutely amazing.”
Jay-Z’s connection to the halftime show goes back to 2019, when Roc Nation began its partnership with the NFL as a strategic entertainment adviser. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he’d wanted the rapper to perform himself from the start of that agreement, whenever Jay-Z felt ready.
For Jay-Z, the booking follows 30 years in music. “From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl halftime stage, this has been a journey,” he said in a statement. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”
