A Gofundme Raised Over $4,000 for Daveigh Chase’s Final Days, and Her Manager Says the Family Has Never Heard of the Man Who Started It

Chase’s longtime manager says the fundraiser isn’t paying for a single one of her expenses. He says her estate already has the money to cover everything, and he’s begging people not to give a cent.
Daveigh Chase left a SAG trust account with enough money to cover her medical care and cremation, according to John Ryan, who managed her for more than a decade and stayed a close friend until her death.
That’s why Ryan is telling people to stop donating to “Help Daveigh Chase Find Comfort & Peace,” a page that’s pulled in roughly $4,200 from 131 donors toward a $5,500 goal. It was started by Roy Hernandez, who says he was Chase’s boyfriend since around 2019.
Ryan says neither her family nor her closest friends know who Hernandez is. In a statement to Deadline, he said the man brought Chase to the hospital in terrible condition and didn’t tell the family until after she died. “There are no medical bills to be paid or funeral expenses,” Ryan said. The family has reported the page to GoFundMe.
Hernandez told TMZ the claims that the campaign is illegitimate are “100 percent” false. He hasn’t answered the specific accusations about the estate funds or when the family was told.
Chase, who voiced Lilo in Lilo & Stitch and played Samara in The Ring, died June 16 at 35. As of this week, the page is still live and still collecting money.
