“PR can be done without hurting others:” Makhadzi, Oscar Mbo clash over “USB”

SOUTH AFRICA – A weekend gig at the Cultural Urban Festival Africa (Cufa) in Mangaung, Free State, has seemingly created an unlikely beef between Makhadzi and Oscar Mbo, with the singer claiming that the DJ had removed her USB while she was still in the middle of a performance.

In a social media post, Makhadzi revealed that she had an axe to grind with the music producer after he allegedly pulled the plug on her performance. She also claimed that the DJ had done it just to grab the headlines.

“What began as an electrifying showcase quickly turned into a public spat, capturing the attention of fans and followers alike after Makhadzi accused Oscar Mbo’s DJ of removing her USB while she was trying to finish her performance.

“Bloemfontein Macufe, I am sorry to perform for 20 minutes. I don’t know if this is all about the Oscar MBO PR trend, but why in such crazy moments when people paid their money to see us?

“Unfortunately, Oscar Mbo DJ removed my USB when I was about to finish. Awwa bafana raorata, but don’t do that, please. PR can be done without hurting others.”

On Monday, Oscar Mbo also came out on social media, apologising to Makhadzi while blaming the incident on promoters.

“I have said it over the phone, and I am saying it again; if that did really happen, I am saying sorry, my sister,” said Oscar Mbo.

“The common denominator is the event promoter; that is why I said let us get them to issue out a statement regarding the incident. Can we please be on the same page and attack the people who are in the wrong, which is the event promoter and organiser,” he said.
