Attack on Titan: The Musical has officially announced plans for an expansive world tour, which will kick off next spring in Singapore. Scheduled to run from April 15 to May 2, 2027, the highly anticipated stage adaptation of Hajime Isayama’s legendary manga will be hosted at the Sands Theatre within Marina Bay Sands. This initial engagement marks the original Japanese production’s first-ever performance in Asia outside of its home country, following previous, highly successful, and completely sold-out runs in major cities like Osaka, Tokyo and New York.
Presented entirely in Japanese with accompanying English subtitles, the production utilizes a specialized theatrical genre known as “2.5-dimensional theater,” which seamlessly blends intricate costumes, complex choreography, high-tech stage effects, and detailed visual design to bring two-dimensional anime and manga properties to vivid life on a three-dimensional stage.
Focusing heavily on the early chapters of Isayama’s dystopian narrative, the musical adaptation is directed by Gō Ueki and features a book written by Masafumi Hata. The music, distinct from the iconic anime soundtrack, boasts original songs crafted specifically for the production under the guidance of music director and hip-hop artist KEN THE 390, alongside lyricist Kaori Miura. However, fans of the anime will be treated to at least one familiar auditory staple, as the beloved first-season opening theme, “Guren no Yumiya,” is slated to be featured.
The Singapore engagement is presented by Base Entertainment Asia, with general ticket sales having recently opened, signaling the start of a massive global rollout as the stage show prepares to announce further international tour dates in the near future.
