JACQUES WEI Spring/Summer 2027: Reconstructing the Inner Wilderness Amidst Illusion, Reality, and Century-Old Architecture
Returning to the 1928 architectural narrative of László Hudec, settling the inner landscape of women with ancient Chaoshan craftsmanship and Oriental Fauvist aesthetics.
by Linqi He · HypebeastJACQUES WEI officially releases its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, “Into the Wild with me.” This season’s show is held in a neoclassical building designed in 1928 by Hungarian architect László Hudec. In collaboration with Oriental complex-image digital artist Tang Haiqing, the show uses imagery of dormant creatures and blossoming flowers to construct a three-dimensional vitality within the time-worn textures of the century-old architecture.
The collection draws deeply from ancient Chaoshan woodcarving and gold lacquer craftsmanship, transforming grape and scrolling grass patterns—symbols of abundant vitality—along with flying birds and blossoming flowers into visual symbols that spread with abandon. The “Sinic Fauvism” aesthetic running throughout the season perfectly blends intensely poured colors and traditional brocade textures into sharp, clean modern tailoring, presenting an image of an Oriental woman who is both soft and sharp, passionate and untamed.
