The LEGO Group has officially partnered with DAFT PUNK™ to develop the LEGO Ideas Daft Punk ALIVE 2007 Set, marking the musical duo’s formal induction into the brick universe.
Spanning product development, digital content, and experiential activations, the partnership bridges decades of music and brick-building history. The rollout follows an unannounced 30-second teaser broadcast on the duo’s WDPK 83.7 channel featuring an isolated 2×4 red brick with rear tubes resembling speaker woofers. Accompanying the news is an animated hero film that sees minifigures of the robotic icons navigating a dark landscape toward a custom brick-built console, set to “Voyager” from 2001’s Discovery and the title track of 2005’s Human After All.
The debut physical milestone stems from the LEGO Ideas community, created during lockdown as a father-and-son build by Patrick Harboun. After winning the 2020 “Music to Our Ears” challenge and gathering 10,000 community votes, the build—modeled directly after the illuminated pyramid stage from Daft Punk’s 2007 ALIVE tour—has officially advanced into commercial development.
“The pyramid stage is one of the most recognisable expressions of Daft Punk’s visual world, so it feels fitting that this fan-created design will be centre stage of this partnership,” said Cédric Hervet, Creative Director for DAFT PUNK™. “Fans have always played an important part in Daft Punk’s story, and we are excited to see that creativity reflected through the LEGO universe.”
Fan creator Patrick Harboun shared, “This all started as a creative escape during lockdown between my son and I because of our shared love of Daft Punk and LEGO building. We never dared imagine it would take off in this way. Watching our passion project become part of an official collaboration is an incredible experience, and it’s a reminder of what makes the LEGO Ideas community so special.”
Look out for more on the partnership in 2027.
