Summary

Drake is reportedly under consideration as a headliner for Coachella 2027, according to music industry outlet 'HitsDailyDouble' ' A booking would mark his first time at the top of the bill since he closed out both Sundays of the 2015 edition

The rumored slot would sit alongside a world tour he has already confirmed for 2027

Drake could be lining up a return to Coachella as one of the festival’s 2027 headliners, according to a new report. On October 2, HitsDailyDouble said in its HitsList column, a regular roundup of music industry news and gossip, that the rapper is among the names being weighed for the top of next year’s bill. Nothing has been confirmed, but the timing lines up neatly with one of the busiest stretches of his career.

The report places Drake in early talks rather than in a finalized booking, so the details remain thin. If the slot comes together, it would mean two headlining performances across the festival’s back-to-back weekends in Indio, California, adding to a 2027 calendar that already includes a world tour.

The rumor comes on the back of a strong 2026. Drake released three albums this year — ICEMAN, MAID OF HONOUR and HABIBTI, and the first of them did most of the chart damage. ICEMAN opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and held the top spot on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart for five weeks. He followed the album run in September with FOMO, an hour-long short film packed with unreleased songs, and four of those tracks reached streaming services on October 2 through the HABIBTI (FOMO) deluxe edition.

His history at the festival gives the rumor extra weight. Drake last headlined Coachella in 2015, closing both Sunday nights roughly two months after the release of If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. That set covered his whole catalog to that point, and it is still remembered for a surprise appearance from Madonna and the onstage kiss that followed. He returned in 2017, this time as a guest during Future’s set, where the pair ran through a few songs including their collaboration “Jumpman.”

His recent festival work hints at what a 2027 set could look like. When he headlined Wireless Festival in London in 2025, Drake gave each of his three nights its own focus: one for his R&B catalog, one for straight hip-hop and one for his Caribbean-inspired records. His three 2026 albums were split along similar genre lines, which gives him plenty of material if he wants to build two different sets for the two Coachella weekends.
