Acne Studios is officially celebrating its 30th anniversary with the upcoming release of Acne Paper Issue 21, titled “Autoportrait”. Looking back across three decades of fashion, art, architecture, design, and publishing, the special edition magazine offers an extensive self-portrait of the creative world that has grown around the house since its founding in Stockholm in 1996. The publication highlights a distinct cultural voice driven by curiosity rather than convention.

The cover of the issue is photographed by Carlijn Jacobs, styled by Imruh Asha, and features model Lulu Tenney appearing without clothing to capture a spirit of artistic freedom, intimacy, and joyfulness. At the heart of the publication are four dedicated self-portrait stories contributed by Jordan Hemingway, Guinevere van Seenus, Malick Bodian, and Katerina Jebb. Additionally, the pages contain a curated Acne Studios archive story photographed by Casper Sejersen and styled by George Krakowiak.

Beyond the visual portfolios, the 27 x 22cm issue includes exclusive interviews with notable cultural figures such as Sadie Coles, Honey Dijon, Max Lamb, Viviane Sassen, Robbie Barrat, and Swedish actress Lena Endre. These features are accompanied by essays from writers including Natasha Fraser, Mark Holgate, Johanna Agerman Ross, Xerxes Cook, Ben Evans, Frances Armstrong Jones, and Vince Aletti. Ultimately, the retrospective issue reflects on the company’s independent ownership and the cross-disciplinary vision of creative director Jonny Johansson.

The Acne Paper Issue 21 “Autoportrait” drops globally on June 17, 2026, via Acne Studios.
