‘GROTESQQQUE’ Sets Its First US Screening at Japan Society

CloverWorks’ 104-minute original film combines aliens, gyaru culture and vampires across three sharply different animated stories.

GROTESQQQUE, the original omnibus anime film from director Atsushi Nishigori and CloverWorks, is heading to the U.S. with a special premiere screening at Japan Society in New York City on October 8. Presented in collaboration with CloverWorks and Aniplex of America, the event will include an in-person introduction from Nishigori, giving American audiences an early opportunity to see the film ahead of its Japanese theatrical opening on November 6, 2026.

The screening follows GROTESQQQUE’s world premiere at Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival on July 24, where Nishigori also appeared in person. Promotional imagery accompanying the latest announcement has been shared through the film’s official X account, while its principal key visual was first unveiled through Aniplex and the project’s official channels on July 5 alongside the main trailer and Japanese release date. A wider U.S. theatrical rollout has not yet been announced.
