Disney‘s Lilo & Stitch 2 and Pixar‘s Incredibles 3 officially have confirmed release dates as the entertainment giant prepares for a massive Summer 2028 box office run.
Continuing its strategic focus on proven franchises, Disney is readying the next chapters for two of its billion-dollar cinematic properties. First up on the release calendar is Lilo & Stitch 2, the direct follow-up to the highly successful 2025 live-action adaptation of the animated classic. The sequel will see the return of franchise co-creator and original voice actor Chris Sanders, who is stepping in to pen the script. The film aims to capture the same Memorial Day weekend dominance as its predecessor.
Following closely behind is Pixar’s Incredibles 3. The superhero family’s long-awaited return marks a new era for the beloved series, as Elemental filmmaker Peter Sohn steps into the director’s chair to take over from original architect Brad Bird. Despite stepping down from directorial duties, Bird will remain intimately involved as the film’s writer and is expected to reprise his iconic voiceover role as Edna Mode. These dates were officially confirmed by incoming Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro, solidifying the studio’s reliance on established nostalgia to anchor its long-term theatrical window.
Disney’s Lilo & Stitch 2 hits theaters on May 26, 2028, followed by Pixar’s Incredibles 3 on June 16, 2028.
