Paul Thomas Anderson‘s celebrated drama, One Battle After Another, is set to make its global streaming premiere exclusively on HBO Max on Friday, December 19. The film, which has earned nine Golden Globe nominations this year, including the coveted Best Picture – Musical/Comedy nod, will also debut on the HBO linear channel the following evening, Saturday, December 20, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
The highly-anticipated feature is both written, directed, and produced by the auteur filmmaker. It boasts a star-studded cast featuring Academy Award winners Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn, alongside Benicio Del Toro, Regina Hall, Golden Globe nominees Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti.
DiCaprio takes on the role of Bob, a washed-up revolutionary living off-grid with his daughter, Willa, played by Infiniti. The narrative unfolds when his nemesis, portrayed by Penn, reappears after 16 years, coinciding with Willa’s disappearance, forcing Bob to confront the consequences of his past.
In a commitment to accessibility, a version of the film with American Sign Language (ASL) will also stream exclusively on HBO Max. It is interpreted by Otis Jones and directed by Giovanni Maucere.
One Battle After Another premieres December 19 on HBO Max and December 20 on HBO.
