Netflix and director Peter Berg have officially released the teaser trailer for The Mosquito Bowl. The World War II epic adapts Pulitzer Prize winner Buzz Bissinger’s bestselling nonfiction book, reuniting the creative pair behind Friday Night Lights.

Set in the Pacific Theater, the film centers on four of America’s top college football stars—John McLaughry (Nicholas Galitzine), Bob Baumann (Bill Skarsgård), Tony Butkovich (Ray Nicholson), and David Schreiner (Tom Francis)—who put their athletic careers aside to enlist in the U.S. Marines following the attack on Pearl Harbor. The true story examines the sacrifices and brotherhood of young athletes leading up to the Battle of Okinawa.

Produced by Berg alongside Brian Grazer for Imagine Entertainment and Alex Gayner, the production was filmed across Queensland and northern New South Wales, Australia. The shoot emphasized practical realism, utilizing live pyrotechnics and minimal stunt doubles to immerse the core cast in combat sequences.

The Mosquito Bowl debuts in select theaters on October 30, 2026, before streaming globally on Netflix on November 25, 2026.
