Tinashe‘s Popstar debuts at No. 6 on the Billboard 200, giving the singer the first top 10 album of her career. The set arrives on the October 10-dated chart with 35,500 equivalent album units earned in the United States in the tracking week ending October 1, Luminate reports. That’s the largest weekly total she has ever posted.

Physical and digital sales led the debut. Album sales made up 22,000 of the total, also a personal best, sending Popstar to No. 4 on Top Album Sales. A wide range of formats helped. The release came in eight vinyl and CD variants, five of them signed, alongside four deluxe or expanded digital editions with bonus tracks and a standard digital album. Streaming equivalent albums contributed another 13,500 units, from 13.73 million on-demand official streams, while track-equivalent albums added only a negligible amount.

The milestone has been a long time coming. Popstar is Tinashe’s seventh title to chart on the Billboard 200 and only her second to reach the top 40. Her previous best was her first: Aquarius, which entered at No. 17 in 2014 and peaked there.

The groundwork came from a sleeper hit. “No Broke Boys” first appeared on Tinashe’s 2024 album Quantum Leap before a dance rework with Disco Lines turned it into her breakout. The reworked track reached No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100, her first top 40 entry on that chart since 2014. It also held No. 1 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs for 24 weeks and finished 2025 at No. 3 on that chart’s year-end ranking.

Above her, Taylor Swift‘s The Life of a Showgirl jumps 21-1 for a 13th nonconsecutive week at No. 1, helped by its four-song The Encore reissue. Olivia Rodrigo‘s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love climbs 5-2 (67,000 units) following the start of her “The Unraveled Tour.” Ella Langley‘s Dandelion slips 2-3 (58,000), Morgan Wallen‘s I’m the Problem holds at No. 4 (56,000) and Noah Kahan‘s The Great Divide rises 6-5 (45,000).

Below Tinashe, Kenny Chesney’s Silver Sands Marina debuts at No. 7 with just over 35,000 units. Nearly 30,000 of those came from sales, enough to top Top Album Sales and give the country star his 17th top 10 album. Olivia Dean‘s The Art of Loving moves 11-8 (35,000), Kahan’s Stick Season edges 10-9 (33,000) and Drake‘s ICEMAN slips 9-10 (32,000).
