AJ Michalka and Alexander Ludwig Cast in ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4

Two new music stars are checking into The White Lotus. On Friday, HBO announced that AJ Michalka — half of sister duo Aly and AJ — and Canadian actor and country singer Alexander Ludwig will join the cast of the series’ fourth season.

The pair mark the first two confirmed actors for the France-set installment, which follows the show’s previous trips to Thailand in Season 3, Italy in Season 2, and Hawaii in Season 1. Plot details and character descriptions remain under wraps, with HBO only confirming that Season 4 will track a new group of guests and employees at a French franchise of the White Lotus resort over the course of a week.

Production is expected to begin in the spring, according to Deadline.

Michalka has starred in The Goldbergs and its short spinoff, Schooled. She is also known for appearing in 2011’s Super 8, voicing Catra in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, alongside with her successful musical work alongside her sister in Aly and AJ. The duo’s last album, Silver Deliverer, dropped earlier this year. (The pair got their start on Disney Channel with the classic film, Cow Belles.)

For his part, Ludwig starred in 2009’s Race to Witch Mountain alongside Dwayne Johnson, had a leading role in Starz’s Heels, and starred in Vikings, Lone Survivor and Grown Ups 2. He released his album Highway 99, but hasn’t released new music since then.

Last season featured a star cast that included Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Scott Glenn, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Sam Rockwell, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Lisa from Blackpink.
