See Odessa A’zion Dance With De-Aged Rolling Stones in ‘In the Stars’ Music Video

Deepfake versions of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood – all looking like they did about half a century ago – sing their latest single “In the Stars” in a new video for the song directed by Francois Rousselet.

This version of the Stones performs the song to a house party, inspiring moves like Jagger from actress Odessa A’zion. The video, which turns surrealistic with multiple drummers and guitarists, serves as a preview of their upcoming album, Foreign Tongues, out July 10, for which they also revealed the track list.

Featuring A’zion, who was nominated for a BAFTA for her role in Marty Supreme, continues the Stones’ grand lineage of It Girls and Boys starring in their videos. Previous actors in the band’s videos include Sydney Sweeney, Paul Mescal, Nicholas Hoult, Kristen Stewart, and Angelina Jolie, among others. A’zion, of course, is thrilled. “Are you kidding me? It’s my dream,” she said in a statement. “The first record that I ever got that I listened to from start to finish was Tattoo You. I’m obsessed with the Rolling Stones. This is in my bucket list for sure.”

Rousselet, who directed Sweeney and Stewart in their Stones clips, used Deep Voodoo deepfake technology to de-age the band members.

The band recorded the album at London’s Metropolis Studios. Guest artists on Foreign Tongues include Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, the Cure’s Robert Smith, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, and a special appearance by the band’s late drummer Charlie Watts.

“We did that in L.A. with Charlie,” Jagger said at a press event, teasing the album. “It’s a real fast punk rocker. It’s a super-fast song.” He didn’t reveal which song it was, though.

The group previously released another single off the album, its lead track, “Rough and Twisted.” Wood revealed in an interview on The Tonight Show, that the track list features their rendition of an Amy Winehouse song, “You Know I’m No Good.”
