Osman’s brainy brand of comedy has made him a staple on British panel shows. He co-created and hosted the game show Pointless, a unique take on the quiz show in which the object is to pick the least popular answer in a given category.

Osman’s debut novel, The Thursday Murder Club, is currently being adapted in a co-production between Netflix and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment. According to Variety, the adaptation will star Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and Ben Kingsley. Chris Columbus, known for directing Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire, and the first two Harry Potter films will write and direct the adaptation.
