Pulp Fiction is the rare film that’s simultaneously a cult classic, a commercial smash, and a critical darling, and this month marks 30 years since its release in theaters. It’s easy to take for granted how unlikely its success was — it’s not often that a hyper-violent, nonlinear indie movie wins the Palm d’Or and breaks $200 million at the box office.

To mark its 30th anniversary, Pulp Fiction will be released as a 4K Blu-Ray, with the Collector’s Edition landing exclusively on Amazon. The collector’s edition drops on Dec. 3, making it a great stocking stuffer for cinephiles. It’s available to pre-order now.

In addition to two Blu-Ray discs, the set comes with a new pop-up slipcover featuring the iconic dance scene between Uma Thurman and John Travolta, plus lobby card reproductions, a photography contact sheet, and collectible stickers.

The two-disc set includes the film as a standard Blu-Ray and a 4K Blu-Ray. Both discs have extensive bonus features, including a trivia track, interviews with the cast, deleted scenes, footage from film festivals, and more.

The 1994 film starred Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman, Bruce Willis, Tim Roth, Christopher Walken, Harvey Keitel, Ving Rhames, and helped revive the career of John Travolta. In a contemporaneous interview with Rolling Stone, Tarantino expressed his admiration for Travolta, saying “I just gave John a role like the ones he used to do, and I took him seriously. But getting to know John, I can sort of see why he did all those Look Who’s Talking baby movies, because that character is kind of similar to who he is in real life – he’s this kind of goofy, charming kind of guy.”

Tarantino’s ninth and most recent film was 2019’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, a revisionist take on the Manson family’s murder of Sharon Tate. Tarantino expressed his desire to end his career after his tenth film, which was originally called The Movie Critic and was slated to star Brad Pitt. However, Tarantino has since scrapped the project, leaving his future plans unclear.

In addition to the upcoming Blu-Ray release, fans can stream Pulp Fiction on Prime Video, Paramount+, or free with ads on Pluto TV.
