Nick Cannon Has So Many Kids He Got a Netflix Docuseries

· Rolling Stone

There are several Nick Cannons — the TV host, the actor, the occasional hip-hop artist, the penitent, and, perhaps the most famous Cannon, the fertile father of 12 who sired five children in 2022 alone. A new docuseries will show how the prolific polymath — who recently cited unspecified trauma he felt after his 2016 divorce from Mariah Carey led him to act carelessly and bring so many lives into the world — acts as a dad. The as-yet-untitled show will premiere on Netflix this winter.

The streamer says that the series will examine Cannon’s “wildly unconventional life,” as he tends to the dozen children he has with six different mothers. “Prepare to meet the Cannon the world has yet to see: heartfelt, complicated, and genuinely committed to showing up for the people he loves — with his trademark comedy, of course,” Netflix stated in a press release. The series will show both “million-dollar meetings” and “midnight diaper runs.” To get a sense of the tone of the show: The docuseries producers previously worked on the Netflix dating series Age of Attraction and Love Island USA.

Cannon married Carey in 2008, and she gave birth to twins in 2011. They separated in 2014 and divorced officially two years later. Cannon also has children with model Brittany Bell, model Alyssa Scott, radio personality Abby De La Rosa, model-realtor Bre Tiesi, and model LaNisha Cole. A son, born to Scott, died of brain cancer at five months old. In 2022, following that tragedy, Cannon said he was trying celibacy as he dealt with his depression. In 2024, he claimed to have taken out a $10 million insurance policy on his testicles.
