John Mayer Will Return to the Sphere in 2027

John Mayer is returning to the Sphere in Las Vegas next year for a run of shows that will feature three distinct sets.

The April 2027 residency will find Mayer performing as a solo artist, with a full band, and with the John Mayer Trio. The solo set will primarily feature Mayer by himself on acoustic guitar, or occasionally piano and electric guitar. And the Trio set will find Mayer reuniting with his blues-rock bandmates, bassist Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan, for the first time live since 2023. 

Mayer’s run at the Sphere will kick off April 8, with additional shows scheduled on April 10, 11, 15, 17, and 18. A pre-sale for tickets will begin Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET, with registration noon on Mayer’s website. The general ticket on-sale will begin Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET.

While this will be Mayer’s first time performing at the Sphere as a solo artist, he’s plenty familiar with the venue after doing two residencies with Dead and Co. there in 2024 and 2025. The gigs last year also wound up being some of the last the Grateful Dead offshoot band would ever play due to Bob Weir’s death in January. 

While Dead and Company have been one of Mayer’s main projects the past few years, he has continued to perform fairly regularly as a solo artist. This year, he performed a handful of international gigs, some intimate club shows in the U.S., and just appeared at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in Austin this past weekend (Sept. 26 and 27). Mayer released his most recent solo album, Sob Rock, in 2021.
