It was a sparkling day and Richard Hasten was out for his ritual morning stroll. Surfers were beyond the breakers, swimmers were doing laps at the Icebergs pool and the beautiful people sat sipping coffees in bikinis.

But there was nothing normal about the Wednesday morning walk for Hasten. Bondi had changed.
