There is an unmistakable look one acquires after Ozempic-induced weight loss, like skin being stretched over a skeleton. Whenever I see someone to whom this fate has befallen, I think of that quote – attributed to French cinema legend Catherine Deneuve – that, after a certain age, you have to choose between your face and your arse.

Rapid weight loss might get you back into your jeans, but it can leave the face looking gaunt, with skin that appears looser, duller and more deeply lined. Social media has dubbed it “Ozempic face”, but Professor Greg Goodman, a dermatologist and clinical professor at Monash University, has a more vivid description: “Ageing on steroids.”
