Somewhere out there, right now, exists the real Peter V’landys. The combative and polarising Australian sports administrator is probably plotting world domination from his dual positions of executive chairman of the NRL and chief executive of Racing NSW.
There also exists, out there on some server, his artificial intelligence twin. Trained over hours from an extensive archive of speeches, reports, profiles and thousands of news articles, V’landys has never interacted with this digital mirror of himself. He probably does not, until reading this, know it even exists.
