Honor Win Turbo release - Dimensity 8500 chipset, 6.79-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, 10000mAh battery, and more from ~RM1582
Although gaming smartphones are rare these days, you still see some companies making them. New ones no longer focus on gaming design aesthetics, but offer other advantages like large batteries instead. This includes the Honor Win series launched last year, which is welcoming a new addition - the Honor Win Turbo. So, let's see what this phone has in store for mobile gamers.
Tech specs and features
Despite the 'Turbo' in the name, the Honor Win Turbo can be considered a 'lite' variant of the Honor Win and Honor Win RT. It features MediaTek's mid-range Dimensity 8500 chipset, 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and 256GB or 512GB of storage. Since the chipset uses less power, it also doesn't come with an internal fan like its two counterparts.
According to Honor, one of the Honor Win Turbo's biggest highlight is the same 10000mAh battery. When combined with a lower power consumption, the Honor Win Turbo promises longer battery life. Paired with the phone is an 80W wired charger, capable of fully recharging from 0 to 100% in 90 minutes. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with wireless charging.
Besides those, the Honor Win Turbo is also ever so slightly smaller than the Honor Win and Honor Win RT. It sports a 6.79-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, max resolution of 2640x1200 pixels, and 8000-nit peak brightness. Additionally, the Honor Win Turbo's cameras are on the more modest side. You only get a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP front camera.
Price and availability
Currently, the Honor Win Turbo is available in China with a starting price from 2,699 yuan (~RM 1,582) for the 12GB+256GB variant. You can also grab the 12GB+512GB variant for 2,999 yuan (~RM 1,757) or the 16GB+512GB variant for 3,599 yuan (~RM 2,109). Honor has not expressed any plans to sell the Honor Win series in Malaysia, so you will have to stay tuned for further updates.
