Steam Controller will be available for sale on 4 May 2026 at USD99 (~RM391)
According to IGNSEA, Valve has finally announced that the Steam Controller will be available for purchase starting May 4th. The controller can be used with Windows PCs and the Steam Machine. That said, what should you know about it?
No confirmed dates for Steam Machine and Steam Frame
For your information, the announcement comes almost six months after the controller was first revealed. While the Steam Controller's release date has been announced, Valve has yet to reveal when the Steam Machine and Steam Frame will also be released.
Additionally, the Steam Controller has four face buttons, a d-pad, 2x analogue sticks, 2x touchpads, 4x new buttons and 4x buttons on the bottom. It can be tethered using Bluetooth, 2.4GHz, and also using the included USB-C cable.
In addition to supporting haptic feedback, the new Steam Controller also tracks movement via a built-in gyroscope. The two analogue sticks feature TMR switches, which eliminate the stick drift issue that plagues other controllers. Each Steam Controller is equipped with an 8.39 Wh Li-ion battery that provides up to 35 hours of use on a single charge.
Moreover, the Steam Controller will be sold in the United States, Canada, the UK, the EU, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan starting May 4 for $99 (~RM 391) each.
