HONOR Malaysia launches Magic Stories Awards 2026 to celebrate Malaysian photography
HONOR Malaysia has officially announced the inaugural HONOR Magic Stories Awards 2026 alongside a nationwide photography workshop tour, aiming to showcase Malaysia’s culture, landscapes, food, and everyday stories through smartphone photography. The initiative is part of the brand’s support for the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, combining community engagement, content creation, and mobile imaging technology to promote Malaysia as a travel destination to a global audience.
HONOR Encourages Malaysians to Capture Local Stories
The HONOR Magic Stories Awards 2026 invites Malaysians to submit photographs captured using HONOR smartphones across six categories: cityscape, people and culture, nature, food, hidden gems, and animals. A total of 21 winners will be selected across multiple categories, with prizes including several of HONOR’s flagship smartphones.
The overall Photographer of the Year winner will receive a flagship foldable smartphone, while other winners will receive devices such as the HONOR Magic8 Pro and HONOR 600 Pro. Submissions are open from 27 April until 15 September 2026, with winners scheduled to be announced in October 2026.
Winning entries will later be featured in exhibitions, shopping mall showcases, and across HONOR Malaysia’s official social media platforms. Also, selected winners will gain the opportunity to advance to the global HONOR Magic Stories Awards 2026 finals, potentially giving Malaysian creators international exposure.
Nationwide Photography Workshop Tour Across Malaysia
Alongside the awards programme, HONOR Malaysia is also organising the HONOR Magic Stories Photography Workshop, a nationwide roadshow designed to help photography enthusiasts improve their mobile photography skills while exploring some of Malaysia’s most scenic and culturally significant locations. Participants will explore themes such as portrait photography, culture, architecture, and nature while using the HONOR 600 Pro to capture images throughout the workshops.
The workshop series will run from 9 May until 11 July 2026 across seven destinations nationwide, covering Penang, Kelantan, Pahang, Genting Highlands, Sabah, Perlis, and Sarawak. Locations include The Habitat Penang Hill, Taman Negara, Desa Dairy Farm, and Sarawak Cultural Village.
CelcomDigi Joins as Connectivity Partner
CelcomDigi has been named the official connectivity partner for the campaign, providing network support to ensure participants can upload and share content seamlessly during the workshops. The collaboration highlights how smartphone brands and telcos are increasingly working together to strengthen Malaysia’s creator ecosystem and digital tourism initiatives.
