Indo-fusion fashion can take a backseat as truly traditional looks are the flavour of the season. That was one of the biggest takeaways from the star-studded Ganpati celebrations held at the Ambani residence in Mumbai on Monday.

From Ananya Panday to Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, the Gen Z divas took the same route, dressing up in regal outfits with no restraint when it came to maximalism. With the festive and wedding season right at the doorstep, you may definitely want to take some notes.

Let’s start with Ananya Panday. The actor turned up wearing a bright, turmeric-coloured Bandhani saree for the auspicious occasion. It came adorned with a heavy golden border and an ornate, embroidered blouse.

Great colour choice, we must say! But the star of the look was her jewellery game. Those vibrant turquoise earrings brought a colour clash that screamed drama—Indian maximalism done the right way, all at once.

Janhvi Kapoor too rocked a traditional look in a colourful Gujarati saree with a front pallu. A royal stack of regal jewellery - a maang tikka, heavy bangles, earrings and oversized rings - completed her look.

Khushi Kapoor, too, wore a rich red saree featuring intricate embroidery across its expanse. A solid, sleeveless blouse balanced out the heavily embellished saree. Like the others, her saree moment was also not devoid of a statement jewellery pairing.

She wore a dazzling diamond choker with a contrasting emerald sitting right at the centre. When wearing a high neckline, it is usually advised to skip a necklace. But Khushi Kapoor just showed us how breaking the rules can work when done well.

With stars embracing bold colours, the festive fashion palette, at least for now, appears to be finally moving away from muted tones and metallic bling. And talking of that, here’s Shanaya Kapoor in an aubergine saree, paired with an embroidered blouse that lends the look an old-world charm with its intricate zari detailing.

Her makeup was barely there, but we can’t say the same for her jewellery. She turned to gold jewellery - a choker paired with ear cuffs - to round off the look.

Rasha Thadani ditched the saree for a lehenga featuring a bandeau blouse. While the blouse leaned towards the edgier side, the overall colour palette, intricate golden embroidery on her maroon lehenga and statement ear cuffs all pointed to the same aesthetic: traditional, regal and maximalist fashion.
