Trisha to Jana Nayagan producer: Celebrities at Vijay's swearing-in ceremony

Actor-turned-politician Vijay's swearing-in ceremony as the Tamil Nadu chief minister saw several film personalities in attendance. These include his Leo co-star Trisha, the producer of his upcoming film Jana Nayagan and longtime collaborators from his journey in cinema.

Actor-turned-politician Vijay took oath as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday, in a ceremony that drew political leaders, party workers and several film personalities who have worked with him over the years. The event carried both political significance and a strong film industry presence. Many of Vijay’s co-stars, family members, producers and longtime collaborators attended the swearing-in ceremony.

The atmosphere around the venue had both political and cinematic buzz. Supporters gathered outside the stadium and raised loud chants, while the guest list inside reflected Vijay’s long journey in Tamil cinema before his new role as chief minister.

Trisha

Actor Trisha was among those present at the ceremony. She arrived in a blue silk saree with golden accents, paired with a beige embroidered blouse and statement jewellery. She wore a diamond and ruby choker with matching earrings, along with minimal make-up, a small bindi and jasmine flowers in her hair.

Trisha has shared screen space with Vijay in five films: Ghilli (2004), Thirupaachi (2005), Aathi (2006), Kuruvi (2008) and Leo (2023).

SA Chandrasekhar and Shoba

Vijay’s parents, filmmaker SA Chandrasekhar and Shoba Chandrasekhar, also attended the oath-taking ceremony. They were among the family members present as Vijay took charge in his new role.

SA Chandrasekhar has directed more than 70 films across South Indian languages and is known for films centred on social issues. Shoba is a playback singer, screenwriter, film producer and film director. She has written several stories that were later made into films by SA Chandrasekhar, many of them starring Vijayakanth and Vijay.

KL Narayana

Producer KL Narayana was also present at the ceremony. He is the producer of Vijay’s film Jana Nayagan, which is yet to hit theatres.

Vivek

Lyricist Vivek attended the event as well. He has written many of Vijay’s introduction songs over the last decade.

Jai

Actor Jai, who shared screen space with Vijay in Puthiya Geethai, was among the film personalities seen at the stadium.

Sangeetha

Actor Sangeetha was also present at the ceremony. She attended with her husband, singer Krish, and their daughter. Sangeetha acted with Vijay in Varisu (2023).

Archana Kalpathi

Producer Archana Kalpathi also attended the swearing-in ceremony. She is associated with AGS Productions and produced GOAT (2024).

From co-stars and collaborators to family members and producers, the gathering underlined his long association with the Tamil film industry.
