Dhurandhar: The Revenge is heading towards a historic coronation at the Karnataka box office. The Aditya Dhar directorial is on track to become the highest-grossing non-Kannada film in the state.

After 18 days, the film has collected over Rs 120 crore in Karnataka alone, inching closer to the lifetime total of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which earned Rs 129 crore in the state. At its current pace, Dhurandhar 2 is expected to surpass this figure in the coming days, setting an unprecedented benchmark.

Why does this matter?

Historically, the Karnataka box office has been dominated by Kannada films, with a few Telugu titles making a mark. Homegrown blockbuster Kantara Chapter 1 leads the charts with Rs 247.50 crore, followed by KGF 2. Baahubali 2 remains the only non-Kannada film in the top five, but not for long.

Dhurandhar 2 has already emerged as the biggest Hindi film in Karnataka, delivering a phenomenal and largely unexpected run. Even in its third week, the film continues to draw strong footfalls, signalling sustained momentum in a traditionally challenging market for Hindi cinema.

Over the past decade, several pan-India blockbusters have dominated the box office, but none managed to challenge Baahubali 2's stronghold in Karnataka, until now. Dhurandhar 2 is only the second non-local film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in the state and is now poised to claim the top spot.

On the larger scale, the film continues its record-breaking run. It has earned Rs 1,023.77 crore domestically in 19 days and Rs 1,622.72 crore worldwide. It is already the biggest Bollywood film at the global box office and is expected to surpass Pushpa 2: The Rule to become the third highest-grossing film of all time worldwide.

Headlined by Ranveer Singh, Dhurandhar: The Revenge also stars Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, and Sara Arjun in key roles.
