TV actor Disha Vakani’s father and renowned playwright Bhim Vakani died at the age of 84. According to close family members, he had been paralysed one and a half years ago and had recently developed pneumonia.

He was hospitalised and died on April 7 at 8:30 AM.

Who was Bhim Vakani?

Bhim Vakani had a long and distinguished career in Gujarati theatre, making significant contributions to the stage.

He also appeared in notable Bollywood films, including the Oscar-nominated Lagaan, produced by Aamir Khan and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, where he played the small but humorous role of Qazi Sahib.

His filmography also includes appearances in Shahrukh Khan’s Swades and Madhuri Dixit’s Lajja.
