Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra and Flip 8 design leaks ahead of Unpacked event

Ahead of Samsung's official unveiling of Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8, photos of cases have leaked online. The South Korean tech giant is expected to release these devices in July at the Samsung Unpacked event.

July is here. Samsung is getting ready to unveil its next lineup of foldable smartphones at its annual Unpacked event, and ahead of that, the cases for three upcoming devices have already made their way online. The leak covers the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8, giving us an early look at what Samsung has planned for each device.

The case images were first unveiled by Android Headlines. While Samsung hasn't officially shown any of these yet, the leaked cases give a fairly clear picture of the form factor and design direction of all three phones ahead of their official unveiling.

What the cases reveal about each phone

Starting with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Samsung's flagship foldable, out of the three, the case lineup includes the usual silicone and clear shell options, but the more interesting addition is the aramid fiber cases. These come in three colours, black, red, and blue, and also feature a built-in kickstand, making them handy for propping the phone up while watching videos or playing games. The silicone cases appear to support wireless charging through a magnetic ring.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is a new wide foldable form factor for Samsung, and its cases closely mirror what's on offer for the Ultra, including aramid fiber options in the same three colours and silicone cases, though the colour selection differs slightly to better match the phone's own colourways. The clear shell cases for the Z Fold 8 are a bit more distinct, featuring designs from artists Esther Kim, Joker, and Kakao Corp.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 cases are somewhat simpler by comparison. There are no aramid fiber options for the flip phone, but it does get silicone cases and artist-designed clear shells from the same trio of Esther Kim, Joker, and Kakao Corp. The silicone cases come in two colours, which appear to be white and gray, and include a magnetic wireless ring as well as a hanging ring that can be used to attach the phone to a bag, similar to what Samsung offered with the Z Flip 7.

Samsung is expected to showcase all three phones at Unpacked later in July, where more case options and full device details are likely to follow.
