- Kangana linked the case to how young people use energy and desire
- She urged youth to pursue skills and careers with focused obsession
- Police are verifying whether Siya Goyal secretly married Chetan Chaudhary
Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Monday reacted to the Siya Goyal-Ketan Agarwal case, using it as a reference to speak about young people's choices. Sharing a report on Instagram Stories, the 39-year-old said the youth should channel their energy into a constructive path and "think with an open mind but live a conservative life".
Her post came as the investigation into the murder of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal took a fresh turn. Police suspect that Siya Goyal may have secretly married Chetan Chaudhary about four months ago while she was still engaged to Agarwal. They have said this claim is being verified, including whether the marriage was legally registered.
Referring to the case, Kangana wrote, “WhatsApp, Instagram, dating apps, benching, ghosting, double- or triple-digit body counts, crumbing, seeing, testing, filters, stories, drugs, clubs — all this and much more — and still it’s not enough. Passion without a goal or a purpose will find many such random self-destructive expressions."
"That’s why obsession is important, but with your career or some skill. To the young and the restless, I want to say: channelise your energies into a constructive path, think with an open mind but live a conservative life; that way you can avoid jail, boredom, negativity, depression and many such dooms,” she added.
Earlier, Kangana had also reacted to the Pune fort murder case and said families should not be blamed for the actions of their children. She also questioned the influence of social media, artificial intelligence and peer groups on young minds. In one of her Instagram Stories, she wrote, “These days, just looking at the families, homes or parents, you can never be sure about the sanskars (values) of the children. What is more important is who is programming them, who they spend time with, what are their influences on SM/AI or real life (sic).”
Recent developments in the case
According to Pune Rural Police, chats recovered from the phones of the accused suggest that Goyal and Chaudhary may have secretly married. Both are in judicial custody in connection with the June 18 killing of 25-year-old Agarwal.
Police have alleged that Agarwal was pushed off a cliff at Lohagad Fort in Pune district. He was engaged to Goyal, and the two were scheduled to marry in November. Police are also examining mobile phone data and chat records as they piece together the alleged conspiracy behind the murder.
