An old video of actor-politician Kangana Ranaut discussing her "ideal" partner has resurfaced online amid the ongoing controversy over her recent remarks on Hindu women, relationships and interfaith marriages. The clip has gone viral as social media users continue to link Kangana's latest comments to actor Sonakshi Sinha.

In the resurfaced interview clip with News24, Kangana says she would prefer a partner in his early 30s and adds that she would not mind if he knew very little about her, as she wanted to lead "a very normal life". Not just for her remarks, the video also caught attention after Sonakshi Sinha liked the post.

"I already told you, early 30s aur agar mere baare mein janta bhi nahi ho I am fine with that because I want to have a very normal life with my guy. And, I make nice chicken, different different curries like chicken korma and chicken makhani and whole Indian food and Mughlai food," she says in the clip.

The video has resurfaced days after Kangana shared another video on Instagram in which she spoke about Hindu women, relationships, and how her own political and religious beliefs had evolved over the years.

Why is Kangana facing criticism?

In the video shared on Monday, Kangana criticised what she described as some "Hindu betiyan" in the film industry who, according to her, remain apolitical until they marry or become friends with "Islamist" men.

Her remarks were widely interpreted as an indirect swipe at Sonakshi Sinha, who married actor Zaheer Iqbal in June 2024. Although Kangana did not name Sonakshi, she later shared a social media post suggesting that Hindu parents should educate their daughters about their religion so they do not marry outside the faith.

The comments reignited debate around interfaith marriages, with many social media users sharing their respective stances. Meanwhile, Sonakshi had previously clarified that neither she nor Zaheer converted their religion and that they married under the Special Marriage Act, 1954, which allows interfaith couples to marry without religious conversion.

Earlier, Kangana had claimed that old videos of her dancing and partying often resurface whenever she speaks on issues concerning the country or its youth.

Sonakshi, meanwhile, has publicly supported the Cockroach Janta Party-led protests over the NEET-UG 2026 controversy. The student movement, which culminated in the resignation of former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, has triggered widespread political and public debate.
