  • Despite winning, he chose to exit the show

In the latest episode of the stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, actors Gaurav Khanna, Ruhanika Dhawan and Rubina Dilaik faced off in the elimination stunt. Although Gaurav emerged as the winner, he surprised everyone by choosing to exit the show, citing concerns over his health.

Gaurav had expressed his desire to quit even before attempting the stunt, saying he wanted to return home. However, after host Rohit Shetty and his fellow contestants encouraged him, he decided to go through with the task. He eventually completed it successfully and emerged victorious, while Ruhanika lost the stunt and was left facing elimination.

However, winning the task did not change the 44-year-old actor’s mind. After his victory, he opened up about his physical condition and explained why he still felt it was best to leave the show.

“Firstly, I’m very sorry. I didn’t intentionally say that I wanted to abort this stunt. I later found out that Ruhanika had also spoken about wanting to abort it,” Gaurav said.

He went on to explain that continuing to participate despite his health concerns would not be the right decision. “Even though I have won it, I would still want to take an exit from the show because I know it is affecting my health. And I don’t want to upset you like this anymore, because I know that the standard of stunts on this show is at a completely different level,” he said.

Gaurav added that he did not want to take up a contestant’s spot if he could not give the competition his all. “And if I’m not 100 per cent physically fit, I don’t want to take the place of someone else who is 100 per cent ready,” he said.

The actor then became emotional as he apologised to his fellow contestants and admitted that he had entered the show with the ambition of winning.

He then hugged Rohit Shetty and touched his feet before bidding farewell to the show. Ruhanika also approached him and tried to convince him to reconsider his decision, but Gaurav remained firm. He explained that his elbow injury would prevent him from giving the competition his 100 per cent.

Towards the end, he reflected on his Khatron Ke Khiladi journey.

This season of Khatron Ke Khiladi was built around the theme ‘Old vs New: Darr Ka Naya Daur’. It featured a mix of returning contestants, including Rubina Dilaik, Rithvik Dhanjani, Vishal, Karan Wahi and Jasmin Bhasin, alongside fresh faces such as Avinash Mishra, Farrhana Bhatt, Orry, Ruhaanika Dhawan and Gaurav Khanna.
