Shah Rukh Khan is Rs 2,490 crore poorer, but still India's richest actor

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan remains India's richest actor despite a sharp drop in wealth. Amitabh Bachchan rises, while Juhi Chawla and Karan Johar exit Hurun India Rich List.

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's fortune has shrunk considerably on the latest Hurun India Rich List, though his position at the top hasn't budged. The 60-year-old is once again India's richest actor, with Hurun estimating his wealth at Rs 10,000 crore in 2026, down from Rs 12,490 crore a year ago. It's a striking fall on paper, but the gap between Shah Rukh and the actors below him remains substantial.

As mentioned in the list, the Rs 2,490 crore drop hasn't changed the order among Bollywood's wealthiest actors. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan comes in second with an estimated wealth of Rs 4,000 crore, followed by actor Salman Khan at Rs 3,000 crore and actor Hrithik Roshan at Rs 2,500 crore.

For Shah Rukh Khan, the fortune isn't built on films alone. His business interests include his production house Red Chillies Entertainment, while his association with the Indian Premiere League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders through Knight Riders Sports has also played a significant part in his wealth.

There is, however, a little more to these numbers than meets the eye. Hurun's figures are estimates, and the value of private companies, investments and other assets can change from one assessment to another. Earlier this year, the Hurun Global Rich List had estimated Shah Rukh's wealth at Rs 10,800 crore.

Amitabh Bachchan's wealth jumps

While Shah Rukh's estimated fortune has fallen, Amitabh Bachchan's has gone in the opposite direction. The veteran actor's wealth is pegged at Rs 4,000 crore in the 2026 list, compared with Rs 1,630 crore in 2025.

His decades-long career in cinema is only one part of the picture. Investments, real estate and assets managed through his family office also contribute to his overall wealth.

Salman Khan, meanwhile, has an estimated wealth of Rs 3,000 crore. Hrithik Roshan follows at Rs 2,500 crore, up from the Rs 2,160 crore attributed to him last year. His fitness and lifestyle brand HRX remains an important part of his business interests.

Some familiar names are missing

The latest list also looks a little different from last year's. Actor Juhi Chawla and filmmaker Karan Johar, both of whom featured on the 2025 Hurun India Rich List, don't appear among the names on the 2026 list.

Juhi had an estimated wealth of Rs 7,790 crore in 2025, while Karan Johar's wealth was listed at Rs 1,880 crore.

And then there are the names whose fortunes come from the business of making films rather than starring in them. Naresh Malhotra, father of Ramayana producer Namit Malhotra, has an estimated wealth of Rs 16,000 crore. Producers Bhushan Kumar, Ronnie Screwvala and Kalanithi Maran also feature on the list.

So, while Shah Rukh's number has taken a sizeable knock since last year, his place among India's wealthiest actors remains unchanged. On Hurun's 2026 list, the crown is still his.
