Actor Akshay Kumar has wrapped up the Kerala schedule of his upcoming film with director Anees Bazmee. The actor shared the update on Instagram with a picture featuring his co-stars Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna, giving fans a fresh glimpse from the set of the untitled project.

The film marks a reunion for Akshay and Vidya, who have worked together in several films over the years. It also brings Akshay back to Bazmee’s direction after 15 years. With the Kerala leg now complete, the comedy-drama has moved a step forward.

Sharing the update with his followers, Akshay wrote, "Keralam schedule wrapped! Nothing beats working with good people in a beautiful place (sic)." He also thanked Bazmee, Vidya, Raashii and the crew for the experience.

In the same post, he added, "Big love to our director Anees Bazmee for the madness behind the camera and to my incredible co-stars Vidya & Raashii and the entire crew! This one’s been special (sic)."

Trip to Kerala for the shoot

In April, Akshay had first shared that he was travelling to Kerala for the film. He posted a clip of himself stepping into an aircraft with Vidya as they left for the state. In the video, the two were seen walking hand in hand as Akshay guided her into the plane.

Along with that post, Akshay wrote, "Next stop: God’s own country, the magical Keralam (Palm tree and airoplane emojis) Anees Bazmi’s next is my fourth film with the ever fabulous @balanvidya and I hope the good luck charm of our jodi continues."

A familiar pairing returns

Akshay and Vidya have previously worked together in films like Heyy Babyy (2007), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), and Mission Mangal (2019). Their earlier films together have moved across comedy and drama. The new project has been described as a comedy-drama.

It is also a notable reunion for Akshay and Anees. The actor-director pair last worked together 15 years ago on films such as Welcome (2007), Singh Is Kinng (2008), and Thank You (2011).

Other projects in the spotlight

Akshay was recently seen in Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan. Meanwhile, Vidya was seen in Raja Shivaji. Directed by Riteish Deshmukh, who also stars in the film, the film hit theatres on May 1.
