- Clips of Qazi's mood swings, songs and reactions quickly went viral
- His catchphrase, I’m a Rockstar baby, became popular across social media
Bigg Boss 20 may have only just started, but Qazi Touqeer is already proving that you do not need a major fight to become the centre of attention. Now, Qazi has received a shout-out from former Bigg Boss contestant and TV actor Hina Khan. The singer, who shot to fame with Fame Gurukul, has quickly become one of the most talked-about contestants, thanks to his larger-than-life personality, dramatic reactions and unpredictable moments inside the house.
Hina Khan, who was the first runner-up on Bigg Boss 11, praised the singer for entertaining viewers without relying on constant controversy or arguments. However, she also pointed out one thing about his behaviour that she would like him to change.
“As a fellow Kashmiri, I’m genuinely happy and proud to see Qazi winning hearts and once again being celebrated like a rockstar after all these years,” Hina wrote on X on Sunday. She added that Qazi was proving that entertainment did not need “controversy or frequent fights” to attract attention.
Hina also hoped that he would continue with the same positive energy while staying true to the qualities that have earned him love from viewers.
But her post came with a note of concern too. Hina said she disagreed with the way mental and physical illness are sometimes presented as entertainment on the show. “I sincerely wish he would avoid that,” she wrote, while making it clear that she otherwise felt he was “doing a great job”.
All about Qazi Touqeer in BB 20 house
Qazi has certainly wasted little time making his presence felt in the Bigg Boss house. His singing, arguments, mood swings and dramatic reactions have already found their way onto social media, with several clips from the show and live feed going viral. His signature line, “I’m a Rockstar baby, aau!”, has also become one of the early talking points of the season.
His personality has drawn comparisons with Tanya Mittal, another contestant known for placing herself at the centre of conversations and frequently talking about her achievements. Qazi, too, has shared some rather unusual details about his life.
In one live-feed clip, he spoke about building a special “coffee tanki” at his home in Kashmir, similar to a water tank, because of his love for coffee. In another video doing the rounds online, he claimed that he was a commando and could do 20 push-ups in five minutes.
Even Salman Khan appears to have noticed Qazi’s ability to command attention. During the first Weekend Ka Vaar, the host praised him for dominating the opening week and embraced his self-proclaimed rockstar persona.
For Qazi, the attention marks a return to the spotlight after a long gap. He became a household name in 2005 after winning the reality singing show Fame Gurukul alongside Ruprekha Banerjee. Nearly two decades later, Bigg Boss 20 has given the singer another stage - and, going by his first week, Qazi seems determined to make the most of it.
