Actor Suchitra Krishnamoorthi has reacted to reports of Aamir Khan marrying his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, in an intimate ceremony on July 5. This will be the superstar’s third marriage.

Responding to the reports, Suchitra wished Aamir well and spoke about finding love again. The 50-year-old also reflected on her own life after divorce and shared her views on marriage, relationships and family dynamics.

Speaking to IANS, Suchitra said, "All the best. Very brave of him. I wish him the very, very best." She said that opening one’s heart to love again is a beautiful and blessed opportunity, and added that she wishes him all love and success.

Suchitra on remaining single

Suchitra married director Shekhar Kapur in 1999, when she was 22 and he was 52. The couple parted ways in 2007. They have a daughter, Kaveri Kapur.

Explaining her decision to remain single after her divorce, Suchitra said that she believes one must be mentally sorted to make a relationship work. She noted that people often ask her why she is single, to which she responds that she is “married to the arts,” describing her creative life as unpredictable, sometimes unstable and demanding. She added that such a lifestyle may not be easy for a partner to navigate. According to her, marriage requires complete clarity and willingness to make adjustments, and in today’s world, it is more of a choice than a necessity.

She also spoke about the realities of marriage in India and added, "I also believe that before getting married, you should understand the other person's family. Very often, conflicts between families and couples create difficulties in a relationship."
