Marvel Studios has officially confirmed the release date for VisionQuest, unveiling new details about the upcoming Disney+ series that brings Paul Bettany back as Vision for one final chapter. The announcement came during Disney’s 2026 Upfronts in New York City on May 12, where Marvel also spotlighted the project as a key part of its Phase Six slate.

Positioned as the concluding chapter of the WandaVision storyline, the series continues Vision’s journey after the events of WandaVision and Agatha All Along, while also building toward major upcoming MCU films like Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

VisionQuest will stream on Disney+ and marks the return of Bettany as the android Avenger, focusing on the “White Vision” version last seen flying away after regaining his memories in WandaVision. The series is expected to follow his attempts to rebuild his identity after the events following Avengers: Infinity War, diving deep into questions of consciousness, memory, and what it means to be human.

At the Upfronts event, the buzz was further amplified by appearances from Paul Bettany, Robert Downey Jr, and Tom Hiddleston, adding star power to Marvel’s presentation.

The cast lineup brings back several familiar MCU elements, most notably James Spader, who reprises his role as Ultron for the first time since Avengers: Age of Ultron. The series also features Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff / Speed, James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S., and Todd Stashwick as Paladin.

Supporting AI-driven roles include Jocasta, E.D.I.T.H., and F.R.I.D.A.Y., expanding the show’s technological universe.

Created by showrunner Terry Matalas, known for Star Trek: Picard, the series is expected to adopt a more cerebral, sci-fi-forward tone. Early insights suggest a narrative built around fragmented memory, surreal digital landscapes, and Vision’s confrontation with remnants of Ultron and his own past consciousness.

The confirmed release date for the series is October 14, 2026. VisionQuest will run for eight episodes, releasing weekly on Disney+ globally. In India, the streaming partner is yet to be officially confirmed, though reports suggest it may arrive on JioHotstar.
