Her songs will forever echo in people's lives: PM pays tribute to Asha Bhosle

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to legendary singer Asha Bhosle, who died on Sunday at the age of 92 in Mumbai. Expressing his condolences, the PM said that her songs will 'forever echo in the lives of billions of Indians.'
Taking to X, Modi wrote, "Deeply saddened by the passing of Asha Bhosle Ji, one of the most iconic and versatile voices India has ever known. Her extraordinary musical journey, spanning decades, enriched our cultural heritage and touched countless hearts across the world. Be it her soulful melodies or vibrant compositions, her voice carried timeless brilliance. I’ll always cherish the interactions I’ve had with her."
Sharing a few photos with Bhosle, Modi further wrote that her voice would continue inspiring generations in the future.
On April 12, Bhosle died in Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital due to multi-organ failure, a doctor from the hospital confirmed. She was admitted to the private hospital last evening.
As soon as the news of her death came to light, tributes poured in from across the political spectrum, with leaders remembering her as one of India’s most iconic voices.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the legendary singer touched the hearts of millions of people across the nation through her soulful melodies.
"Asha Tai not only carved out a unique identity with her sweet voice and unparalleled talent, but also enriched Indian music further through her melodies. Her extraordinary ability to adapt to every genre of music won over every heart. Asha ji, who touched millions of hearts with her voice, left an indelible mark not just in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Gujarati, and many other languages, but also in folk songs," Shah wrote on X.
Shah further wrote that every Indian who likes to hear music like him will mourn the death of the legendary singer.
Other than PM Modi and Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, among others, paid their tribute to Asha Bhosle after her death.
