After Divya Khossla accused Jigra of copying her film Savi, which released in May, filmmaker Karan Johar shared a cryptic post, hinting that 'silence is the best response'. Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt, hit theatres on October 11. In response to KJo's subtle dig, Divya fired back with a bold statement.

“Silence is the best speech you will ever give to fools (sic),” Karan’s post read. Although the filmmaker didn’t explicitly address the controversy, the timing of his post hinted that it was a subtle response to Divya's accusations against Alia Bhatt.

Following the same, Divya gave a sharp reply on her Instagram story. “When you are shamelessly accustomed to stealing what rightfully belongs to others, you will always seek shelter in silence. You will have no voice no spine (sic),” she wrote.

Take a look at the post here:

On October 12, Divya accused Alia Bhatt for rigging box office numbers. “Went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra show. Theatre was totally empty all theaters going empty everywhere. #Aliabhatt me sach mein Bahut #Jigra hai.. Khud hi tickets karide aur fake collections announce kar diye. Wonder why paid media is silent. #weshdnotfooltheaudience #truthoverlies #HappyDussehra (sic)," she wrote.

This comes after the buzz surrounding the similarities between Divya's film Savi and Jigra. While acknowledging them, Divya expressed gratitude for being the first to explore the genre, emphasising that both films have their own distinct journeys.

Savi, featuring Harshvardhan Rane and Anil Kapoor, tells the story of a housewife attempting to free her husband from a high-security prison in England, drawing inspiration from the tale of Savitri and Satyavan. Meanwhile, Jigra revolves around Alia Bhatt's character, who orchestrates a jailbreak to save her brother.
