Is Veronica back? Deepika Padukone's Cocktail 2 cameo rumours are trending

A Reddit post has claimed actor Deepika Padukone may return as Veronica in Cocktail 2, sparking fresh buzz around the sequel. There is no official confirmation yet but the film has already garnered attention for its cast, music and vibe.

Is Deepika Padukone's Veronica from Cocktail returning to the big screen? Fans sure can't stop the natter ever since a Reddit post claimed that the actor will make a cameo in Cocktail 2, as the popular free-spirited character from the 2012 hit.

According to the post, Deepika had visited Maddock Films’ office a few months ago. At the time, many were guessing that the meeting was linked to Mahavatar. But the post claimed that she was actually being repeatedly approached to appear as Veronica in the sequel, adding that she agreed and shot her portion around the time.

The Veronica buzz around Cocktail 2

Veronica remains one of Deepika’s most talked-about characters. In Cocktail, the character gets caught in a love triangle with her best friend Meera, played by Diana Penty, and her boyfriend Gautam, played by Saif Ali Khan.

There is, of course, no official confirmation yet on Deepika’s reported appearance. But all the discussion has added fresh buzz to Cocktail 2, which is already drawing attention for its cast, music and vibes. The film stars Kriti Sanon, Rashmika Mandanna and Shahid Kapoor, and is set to release in cinemas on June 19, 2026.

Cocktail 2 promises fresh energy

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Kriti described her part as the “hottest” role of her career so far, adding that the film's director, Homi Adajania, helped her tap into a striking new screen avatar.

Kriti said she looks very different in the film and credited the director’s visual sensibility for bringing out a cool side in her that she had not explored before.

The actor also shared why she said yes to the project. After working on the emotionally intense Tere Ishk Mein, she said she was looking for something lighter and more fun. She said Cocktail 2 gave her that space, while also letting her try a more glamorous and edgy part.

Meanwhile, Deepika has also been in the news on the personal front. She recently announced that she is expecting her second child with actor-husband Ranveer Singh.

And now, if this reported cameo does turn out to be true, Veronica may just walk in and steal a bit of the spotlight all over again.
