Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar undergoes successful surgery for bladder cancer

Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar, who recently underwent surgery in the US, is recovering well. His daughter Niveditha Shivarajkumar and his doctor gave an update about the actor's health.

Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar successfully underwent surgery for bladder cancer at the Miami Cancer Institute (MCI) in the US on December 24, 2024. Before leaving for the US, the actor had revealed that he was receiving treatment and assured fans that his condition was under control. Now, his daughter, Niveditha Shivarajkumar, has shared an update about the surgery through her statement on X.

In her statement, Niveditha said, “With the grace of God, my father’s surgery was successfully completed. He is now in stable condition and recovering well.” She added, “Throughout this journey, my father has been a pillar of strength.”

She also expressed gratitude to the medical team at MCI and the doctor in charge, Dr Murugesh Manoharan, for their exceptional care and support. Niveditha extended her heartfelt thanks to the fans for their prayers and unwavering support for their beloved superstar.

Dr Murugesh Manoharan also shared an update on Shiva Rajkumar’s condition post-surgery. In a video statement, he said, “Mr Shiva Rajkumar’s surgery went very well. He had his cancerous bladder removed completely. Following this, he had an artificial bladder recreated using his own intestine.” He further added, “Shivanna is a very strong person, mentally and physically. He was very stable throughout the surgery and post-op as well.”

Speaking about Shiva Rajkumar’s recovery, Dr Manoharan stated, “He is stable, and all his laboratory tests are very good. I expect him, with God’s grace, to recover very quickly and get back to normalcy within a few weeks.”

This news comes as a relief to fans of the Kannada superstar, who had been praying for his speedy recovery. Special poojas were organised by fans before the surgery to wish for Shiva Rajkumar’s strength and good health. His wife, Geetha Shivarajkumar, also addressed the fans, thanking them for their support. She shared that Shiva Rajkumar would personally address his fans in a few days.

On the work front, Shiva Rajkumar was last seen in the Kannada film Bhairathi Rangal, which was released on November 15, 2024. He is currently working on multiple films, including Uttarakaanda, 45, Bhairavana Kone Paata, and is also set to feature in Ram Charan’s RC 16.
