Delhi Tourism will organise seven spiritual and heritage walks in Chittaranjan Park during Durga Puja under the "Dilli Sabki Hai" initiative, offering visitors a chance to experience Bengali traditions, spirituality, food, music, art and community life in the capital's 'mini Bengal'.

Scheduled between October 11 and 19, the walks are aimed at presenting Chittaranjan Park, or CR Park, as a spiritual and heritage tourism destination while showcasing Delhi as a city where diverse communities, traditions and cultures coexist. Bookings can be made on the Delhi Tourism website at Rs 500 plus GST per person.

According to an official, the walks will cover the history and evolution of CR Park, Durga Puja traditions, idol-making and craftsmanship linked to Kumartuli, bhog preparation, prominent pandals, Bengali markets, traditional food, music and other aspects of the community's living heritage.

Visitors will also get curated storytelling, heritage interpretation and interactions with local community members for an immersive experience of the spiritual, cultural and culinary traditions associated with Durga Puja in CR Park.

A special walk for influencers was held in CR Park on October 7, allowing digital creators to experience and document the area's traditions, food, music, craftsmanship, community participation and preparations for the festival.

During Durga Puja, CR Park comes alive with elaborately crafted idols, thematic pandals, rituals, aarti, dhak performances, devotional and cultural music, bhog preparation, Bengali cuisine, handicrafts and community celebrations.

The walks will also cover the history of the Kali Mandir Society, eco-friendly visarjan practices, pandal themes, idol craftsmanship and the evolution of CR Park, highlighting the Bengali community's contribution to Delhi's cultural landscape.

The official said the walks are part of tourism initiatives under the "Dilli Sabki Hai" vision of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and the leadership of Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra.

The schedule includes a pre-Puja morning walk on October 11 from 8 am to 10.30 am. A pre-Puja evening walk on October 12 from 5 pm to 8 pm will cover pandal preparations, Bengali food, markets, music and heritage storytelling. Another evening walk on October 14 will focus on art, craftsmanship, pandal themes and community preparations, while a Puja-eve walk on October 15 from 5 pm to 8 pm will centre on final preparations and Bengali spiritual and heritage traditions.

The October 16 Shashthi evening walk will cover Puja rituals, prominent pandals, dhak, music and Bengali traditions. The October 18 Ashtami morning walk, from 8 am to 11 am, will focus on traditional rituals, aarti, the pandal experience and interaction with the local community. The October 19 Navami evening walk will feature pandal hopping, dhak, cultural activities, music and Bengali cuisine.

Through these seven walks, Delhi Tourism plans to bring together the history, rituals, craftsmanship, food and community life of CR Park during Durga Puja, while offering visitors a guided view of one of the capital's most prominent Bengali cultural hubs.
