Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh blessed with second child, a baby girl

There is a new little girl in the Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh household. The couple welcomed their second daughter on September 19 and shared the news with fans on Saturday, keeping the announcement as simple and sweet as the first time around. The A-list couple announced pregnancy back in April this year.

“Welcome baby girl,” they wrote in a joint Instagram post, adding an evil eye emoji. That was all it took. The comments section soon turned into a virtual celebration, with Bollywood stars and friends sending love to the new parents.

Sonam Kapoor, Sara Arjun, Anil Kapoor and Kriti Sanon were among those who dropped congratulatory messages, joining scores of fans celebrating the arrival of the couple’s second baby.

The announcement also brought back memories of another September morning. Deepika and Ranveer had welcomed their first daughter, Dua, on September 8, 2024, announcing her arrival with the same three words: “Welcome baby girl.” Nearly two years later, the family has another reason to celebrate.

Just days before welcoming their second daughter, Deepika and Ranveer had made a quiet spiritual stop in Mumbai. On Friday, the couple visited the Siddhivinayak Temple with Ranveer’s parents. Deepika, who was pregnant at the time, wore an orange and purple kurta set, while Ranveer opted for a purple kurta and white trousers.

The visit came a day after Ranveer offered prayers at Lalbaugcha Raja. It also carried a sense of deja vu for the couple. They had visited Siddhivinayak on September 6, 2024 – just two days before Dua was born.

Deepika and Ranveer had also recently shared pictures from their pregnancy shoot, giving fans a glimpse of this chapter before their family grew by one more. Earlier this month, they celebrated Dua’s second birthday with a set of family pictures. Fans, naturally, had plenty to say about the little girl’s resemblance to her father.

Deepika and Ranveer’s own love story began on the sets of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013. What started as a film collaboration turned into a relationship that lasted several years before they got married on November 14, 2018, in Lake Como, Italy. They celebrated their wedding with two ceremonies, honouring both their Konkani and Sindhi traditions.
